Finally Finished..

Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted anything on this site, but I just had to show off our finished pond and garden. Col, my wonderful man worked tirelessly to get it all finished, and it really looks spectacular (the photos really don't do it justice). Thanks to the rainfall we didn't need to use any water to fill it, other than my water bottle he religiously tipped into the pond every morning before he went to work. (Don't laugh we recycle everything)
Now the last thing is the pergola, and that isn't far away..I hope.

And if you are wondering what happened to my paper tole's, after all this blog was meant for my paper tole craft, I plan to do some in the next few weeks and post them..I promise :)
Anyway almost time to slumber..work tomorrow :(

Another addition to the household - the POND

Hi all,

As you can see my other half Colin, has been at it again and this time he's added a fish pond, with a recycled waterfall (just need the rain now) and some new plants we bought this weekend. (Still need a lot more plants) It will be so nice to sit on the new deck, watch the fish and see our garden grow, and of course relax after a day working in the city. Now, all we need now is the pergola, but that's another story for another day!

Until then,

Have fun xx

ANOTHER DISNEY CLASSIC

Hi everyone,
I just couldn't resist posting this Disney classic that I transformed into papertole. It looks so good and colourful. (Sometimes the photos I take, really don't do justice to what's in the frame - perhaps I should take a stint in photography or buy a new camera) Neverthless, they look great on my craft wall of my new house. I have made a few others of Mickey and the gang and will post the pics, down the track but for now.. Enjoy!

Wishing YOU Well!

Hi All,
I hope everyone had a pleasant Mother's Day. Our day has been quite busy, well Col's was in the building department. Anyway, he built this wonderful wishing well this weekend and painted it up too. It is sooo cute..It stands precisely 1400cm high and 600cm wide. It can be used for a variety of things..Herb garden, potted plants etc. We have a bucket on its way (bought on ebay) to put in the well just to make it look more authentic. And the colours actually match our house.. Meanwhile here are some before and after shots. Enjoy!!
PS. Be on the look out for Col's Blog in the future, where you will be able to purchase any of his fabulous creations..

A New Addition to the House..Our Big Deck

Col, my other half, is such an amazing man. He tirelessly built this wonderful deck in only 3 days. (Actually it was last weekend and half of today) Nevertheless, I didn't think he could finish it but he did. It looks small in the photos but when you are standing on it, it's quite large. It will accommodate an outdoor setting, large pot plants, a BBQ and anything else I can think of. So I just want to say thankyou honey for a job well done!!

CREATE A TOLE COMING SOON!!

WHEW!! What a day! Thankfully it's over. Tonight I've been having some fun in photo studio and came up with this design (and plenty of others) for my upcoming website. But I plan to animate it, in a way where the frame and its contents really do come to life. And that will be a challenge in itself. Anyway better hit the hay..Goodnight :)

JAPANESE SHELL ART..at keeki's Gallery

If you ever get the chance drive down the Frankston-Dandenong road in the S.E, you must visit this store: www.keeki.com.au/ for its exquisite furniture, accessories and home wares. You could spend the whole afternoon literally wandering the rooms in awe. (Each of the rooms are decorated by professional interior designers and are simply beautiful.)

The first time I went to keeki's, I found this piece of beautiful Japanese Shell art and I just had to have it. Even though it was expensive I couldn't resist...

Now it takes pride and place in my living room..

DECISIONS! DECISIONS!

Could some one out there can give me an idea of what kind of papertole I should do next? I thought I'd do a Beatles one, but I'm sure they may be a little outdated. (I love them anyway) Then I thought I might do the cover of Trial Kennedy's Album (New Manic Art- interesting artwork and great album), since Col works with the lead singer. So if any one could let me know what one to make, (has to be a music theme), I will post it on my blog..

We're off to see the Wizard....

....the wonderful wizard of oz...sorry about that, but that tune is so catchy. I loved the movie because I was always a great fan of Judy Garland and to think they were going to cast Shirley Temple for the lead as Dorothy. No I don't think so. I remember a scene in the movie and thought, yes that would look great on a card, so I did. Inside and out!

CREATE!

What the word CREATE means to me..

** C is for Creativity. Looking beyond the realms and create something out of nothing.

** R is for Revel. Taking great pleasure of the things you do.

** E is for Eager. Be enthusiastic at what you can achieve.

** A is for Achievement. Being proud of what you have accomplished.

** T is for True. Always be true to yourself and do your very best.

** E is for Effort. Never give up, always see it through to the end.

And that word is what I look at each time, I go into my little craft room. It motivates me...

KISS - ROCK LEGENDS

Remember these guys from the 70's, dubbed the loudest rock group in the world. I certainly do and I loved them. I had posters and albums and even Kiss dolls (which disappeared over time) and great memories of their concert way back when. So I guess it was only fitting to do a papertole of them too. Although my tastes have changed through the years and now enjoy classical pieces, Kiss will always remain rock legends to me.

911 PLAQUE - A NEW YORK STATE OF MIND

Looking through my many (yet still stacked in the garage) boxes, I finally found my 911 plaque. I made it a week after the terrible bombings of the twin towers in New York, Sept 11, 2001. I just felt compelled to do something, so I created it artistically. It was my way of expressing the way I felt, for so many who perished that day. Despite all the carnage, I can now look at that plaque and remember all the good that came from it.. A city that became united in its grief and the many heroes that were produced that day.

SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT

I made this FLOWER POWER frame sometime ago but thought I'd post it, as it has a 3D effect. It took me months to make it because of the moulding and drying time but the final result was quite unique. I made it with das clay and used a liquid glass coating (equivalent to 50 coats of lacquer) to give it a nice finish.

NOT ANOTHER LOONEY..

Yes! Another Looney papertole to add to the collection. I love this one because you can make it your own by adding a name to the car plates, or by adding your street name to the sign post. And the colours are so vibrant, the photo really doesn't do it justice.

LET'S GET LOONEY!!

I love anything animated, don't know why, I think it's stems from my childhood. And as an avid collector of animated keepsakes from Hallmark,I put together a Looney Tunes papertole to show off my collection. And it looks really effective. It transforms the corner of the room into something interesting and creative. I guess now I will just have to think up something else, perhaps a Disney theme, but I only have so many corners in the house. :)

LET IT RAIN!!

I couldn't resist making this papertole of Mickey and the gang under their umbrella sheltering from the rain, pity it didn't rub off and rain here in Victoria. Anyway that's all from me... Sleep tight and Goodnight!!
ps..there is actual rain drops in the picture. Dimensional magic is used.

ANYONE FOR CRICKET?

Welcome all you cricket fans! I made this papertole of Adam Gilchrist, a while ago, and it was proved to be very popular. I'm not a cricket fanatic myself but I did enjoy silconing Adam together and coming up with the finished product.
The colors in the picture looks really spectacular when the tole is in its frame and mounted on the wall. But if you are looking for something else, there is always rugby; football; tennis or any other sport you can think of. I plan to do some more sports toles in the future. So keep an eye out for that!!

WELCOME TO MY WORLD OF CREATEATOLE

Have you ever looked at a picture and felt drawn into it? That's how I feel when ever I look at animation, I feel as if the picture could on and on forever. So I decided to papertole those images and bring them to life. I get a thrill when I see the finished product because of the detail that goes into every papertole. I've included one for you to have a look at. Enjoy!
